Was a precolonial kingdom on the coast of West Africa in what is now Benin.
Establishment
January 1551: The Kingdom of Whydah was centered in Savi and is said to have been founded at the end of the first half of the sixteenth century.

January 1681: Foundation of Fort of São João Baptista de Ajudá.
January 1703: Akwamu conquest of Whydah, a coastal state of Dahomey.
January 1709: Under King Haffon the territory of Whydah was expanded to 64 km coast, stretching 40 km inland.
March 1727: The last ruler of Whydah was King Haffon who was deposed in 1727, when Whydah was conquered by the Kingdom of Dahomey.
