Was a medieval Rus' principality centered on the town now called Novhorod-Siverskyi (Ukraine).
Establishment
January 1133: The Principality of Novgorod-Seversk was formed as part of the Chernigov principality in 1097. Following the death of Mstislav I of Kiev in 1132, the semi-autonomous states were de facto independent.

Expansion during the rule of Algirdas in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
January 1357: Expansion of Lithuania by 1356.
January 1363: The Principality of Novgorod-Seversk became part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
January 1147: In 1146, the territory of Putivl was mentioned for the first time in historical records.
January 1153: Rylsk was first mentioned in chronicles in 1152.
January 1157: Vshchizh principality was an appanage principality within the Chernigov principality which existed from 1156 to 1239.
January 1158: Starodub was detained by Izyaslav Davydovich during his transition to Kiev and the occupation of the Chernigov reign by Svyatoslav Olgovich in 1157.
January 1165: The Trubchevsky Principality separated from the Novgorod-Seversky principality after 1164.
January 1203: Establishment of the Vorgol principality.
January 1236: Establishment of the Kozelsk Principality.
January 1247: The Glukhovskoe Principality was established around 1246 in Glukhov.
January 1247: Creation of the Bryansk Principality.
January 1276: With the death of Vasily, the Kursk princely dynasty ended.
Disestablishment
January 1363: The Principality of Novgorod-Seversk became part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
