Was a sultanate in Indonesia centered on the city of Palembang in Sumatra.
Establishment
January 1660: Dutch East India Company took Kuto Gawang and destroyed it. The Susuhunan (king) Abdurrahman moves his court to Beringin Janggut.

January 1686: British Bencoolen was a possession of the British East India Company (EIC) from 1685. It covered about 480 km along the southwestern coast of Sumatra.
October 1823: Following The Palembang War of 1821 and the dissolution of the Sultanate institution on 7 October 1823, the Kuto Tengkuruk was razed to the ground.
