January 1743: The Hausa kingdom of Gobir expands to include Zinder (Niger) and Sabon Birni (Nigeria).
January 1775: Mirriah, a city in West Africa, became the seat of an independent Sossébaki state under the rule of Bazaza, a prominent leader in the region, in 1774. The territory eventually came under the control of the Myrria Kingdom.

July 1899: Meeting on 30 July at the Battle of Tirmini, 10 km from Zinder, the well-armed Senegalese-French troops defeated the Sultan and took Damagaram's capital.
