A Sundanese Hindu kingdom located in the western portion of the island of Java from 669 to around 1579. It was a successor of the Tarumanagara Kingdom.
Establishment
January 670: According to the Wangsakerta manuscript, King Tarusbawa succeeded his father-in-law as the king of Tarumanagara and renamed Tarumanagara to the Sunda Kingdom. He was crowned on 18 May 669.

January 671: According to the Wangsakerta manuscript, Wretikandayun, the lord of Galuh, used the establishment of the Sunda Kingdom as an excuse to split eastern Taruma from Sunda. King Tarusbawa granted Wretikandayun's demand and in 670 Tarumanagara was divided into two kingdoms: the Sunda Kingdom in the west, and the Galuh Kingdom in the east, separated by the Citarum River.
January 751: The Sailendra dynasty, also known as the Shailendra dynasty, was a prominent Indonesian dynasty that ruled Java around 750. They were known for their patronage of Buddhism and the construction of impressive temples, such as Borobudur.

January 1483: According to Purwaka Caruban Nagari, a Cirebon chronicle, Cirebon declared its independence from Sunda and no longer sent tribute to the Sunda court.
January 1528: Sunan Gunungjati and his son settled in Banten Girang, and took control of both the port of Banten and Kelapa, while the king of Sunda was powerless to prevent this take over. Sunan Gunungjati crowned Hasanudin king of Banten with authority bestowed by the Sultan of Demak who, in turn, offered Hasanudin his sister's hand in marriage. Thus, a new dynasty was born at the same time as a new kingdom was created. Banten was the capital of this kingdom, held as a province under Sultanate of Cirebon.
January 1528: Sumedang Larang was an Islamic Kingdom in western Java. Its territories consisted the Parahyangan region, before it became a vassal state under the Mataram Sultanate. In 1527, the territory of actual Sumedang regency was added to Sumedang Larang.
January 1528: Following the disclosure of a news of Portuguese-Sunda alliance, Sultan ordered Fatahillah to capture Banten port of kingdom of Sunda in 1527.
January 1528: Following the disclosure of a news of Portuguese-Sunda alliance, the Sultan of Demak ordered to capture the Sunda Kelapa port.
January 1561: Hasanuddin decided to launch the final blow to what remained of the kingdom of Sunda. Maulana Yusuf led the attack on Dayeuh Pakuan, its capital city located in modern Bogor. After losing its most important port Sunda Kelapa, the kingdom, already deprived of its trading revenues, was of symbolic importance only. The kingdom put up little resistance and henceforth Banten ruled over the entire territory of the former kingdom of Sunda, which corresponds to most of current Indonesian province of West Java.
January 1569: The Kingdom of Pajang was a short-lived Muslim state in Java. It was established by Hadiwijaya or Jaka Tingkir, Lord of Boyolali, after a civil war and was a successor to the Sultanate of Demak.
Disestablishment
January 1580: From 1567 to 1579, under the last king Raja Mulya, also known as Prabu Surya Kencana, the Sunda Kingdom declined substantially. It fell under the domination of Banten in 1579.
