A self-declared state consisting of the Anglophone regions of Cameroon, seeking independence from the central government. The international community does not officially recognize Ambazonia as an independent nation.
Establishment
October 2017: Anglophone separatists unilaterally declared the independence of Ambazonia from Cameroon.
December 2017: Cameroonian forces retook the villages of Bafia and Muyenge from the Ambazonian rebels.
December 2017: Cameroonian forces retook the village of Bodam from the Ambazonian rebels.
December 2017: Cameroonian forces retook the village of Mamfe from the Ambazonian rebels.
