  • January 1181: Osnabrück fief of Tecklenburg.

  • January 1227: Establishment of the Osnabrück Prince-Bishopric.

  • January 1264: Bentheim Acquired Tecklenburg.

  • January 1280: Bentheim Partitioned into Tecklenburg and Bentheim.

  • June 1393: On June 18, 1393, the bishops and the cities of Münster and Osnabrück formed an alliance to besiege Cloppenburg, which was conquered in the same year.

  • January 1401: Tecklenburg County lost Cloppenburg, Friesoythe and Bevergern to Münster.
