Establishment
January 1101: A descendant of the counts of Altshausen moved his residence to the central Laucherttal, where he built a residence (Burg Veringen) near the village of Veringen. From then on he called himself Count von Veringen.

1. Events
January 1292: Because the people of Veringen were obviously in dire financial straits, Heinrich (the younger) sold the territory, now called the county, to Rudolf von Habsburg in 1291.
January 1301: The Habsburg pledged the county of Behringen back to the Veringers.
Disestablishment
January 1345: Count Heinrich von Veringen was forced to sell his county to his distant Württemberg relatives.
