16 may 786 - 11 june 786: Husayn and his supporters planned an uprising at Medina during the annual pilgrimage of 786, but their hand was forced by a confrontation with the local governor, al-Umari. The conspirators rose in revolt on the morning of 16 May, and seized the Mosque of the Prophet. The Battle of Fakhkh was fought on 11 June 786 between the forces of the Abbasid Caliphate and the supporters of a pro-Alid rebellion in Mecca. It was an Abbasid victory, resulting in the suppression of the Alid uprising.
