Samuel was a Tsar who ruled over the First Bulgarian Empire from 997 to 1014. During his reign, he faced several significant wars, including the Byzantine-Bulgarian Wars. One of the most important conflicts was the Battle of Kleidion in 1014, where Samuel's forces suffered a devastating defeat against the Byzantine Emperor Basil II. This defeat marked the beginning of the end for the First Bulgarian Empire and led to its eventual collapse.
