Ferdinando III, Grand Duke (Granduchy of Tuscany) : All Data
Ferdinando III was the Grand Duke of Tuscany from 1790 to 1801 and again from 1814 to 1824. During his first reign, he faced the Napoleonic Wars, including the War of the Second Coalition (1799-1802) and the War of the Third Coalition (1803-1806). These conflicts greatly impacted Tuscany, as it was occupied by French forces and later incorporated into the French Empire. Ferdinando III's second reign saw the end of the Napoleonic era, with the Congress of Vienna restoring him to power. Although there were no major wars during this period, the ruler faced challenges in rebuilding and stabilizing the Grand Duchy after years of turmoil.
