Shah Shujah Durrani, Emir (afghanistan) : All Data
Shah Shujah Durrani was the Emir of the Emirate of Afghanistan during the period of 1803-1809 and again from 1839-1842. His reign was marked by significant conflicts, including the First Anglo-Afghan War (1839-1842). This war saw the British East India Company's attempt to install Shah Shujah as a puppet ruler, leading to a widespread Afghan rebellion and ultimately the retreat and massacre of British forces in Kabul. Despite his brief reign, Shah Shujah's rule was defined by the tumultuous events of the First Anglo-Afghan War, which had a lasting impact on Afghanistan's relationship with foreign powers.
