Euthydemus was a king who ruled over the Greco-Bactrian Kingdom from approximately -209 to -199. During his reign, he faced significant military challenges, including the invasion of the Seleucid Empire led by Antiochus III. The most important war that occurred during Euthydemus' tenure was the Greco-Bactrian War, which lasted from -208 to -205. This conflict saw Euthydemus successfully defend his kingdom against the Seleucid forces, ultimately securing his rule and establishing the Greco-Bactrian Kingdom as an independent state.
