Soltan Hoseyn was the Shah of the Safavid dynasty, reigning from 1694 to 1722. During his rule, he faced significant challenges, including the Afghan invasion of Persia in 1709-1710 and the subsequent Pashtun rebellion in 1719-1720. These conflicts greatly impacted the stability of the Safavid Empire and ultimately led to its downfall. Despite his efforts to defend his kingdom, Soltan Hoseyn was unable to prevent the decline of the Safavid dynasty, marking the end of their rule in Persia.
