Sultan bin Saif was an Imam who ruled over the Imamate of Oman from 1650 to 1667. During his tenure, the most significant war was the Omani-Portuguese War, which lasted from 1650 to 1659. This conflict saw the Imamate of Oman successfully expel the Portuguese from their strongholds in Muscat and other coastal areas. Another notable war during Sultan bin Saif's rule was the Omani-Yaruba War, which took place from 1659 to 1664. This internal conflict between the ruling Yaruba dynasty and the Imamate resulted in the Imamate's victory and solidified their control over Oman.
