Adad-shuma-usur was a king of the Kassite dynasty in the Babylonian Empire, reigning from approximately -1206 to -1199. During his tenure, he faced several significant conflicts. One of the most important wars was the Elamite invasion, which occurred around -1205. This invasion threatened the stability of the Babylonian Empire and required Adad-shuma-usur to mobilize his forces to defend his kingdom. Another notable conflict was the rebellion of Marduk-apla-iddina II, also known as Merodach-Baladan II, in -1203. This rebellion posed a challenge to Adad-shuma-usur's authority and required him to suppress the uprising to maintain control over his empire.
