Al-Mu'tazz was the Caliph of the Abbasid Caliphate from 866 to 869. During his reign, he faced several significant wars and revolts. One of the most notable conflicts was the Zanj Rebellion, which lasted from 869 to 883, and was a major uprising of African slaves in southern Iraq. Another important event was the Saffarid invasion of the Abbasid Caliphate, which occurred in 867 and resulted in the capture of the city of Basra. These wars and revolts posed significant challenges to Al-Mu'tazz's rule and had a lasting impact on the stability of the Abbasid Caliphate.
