Alfonso V, also known as Alfonso the Magnanimous, was the King of Aragon from 1416 to 1458. During his reign, he expanded his kingdom's territories through various military campaigns and diplomatic alliances. One of the most significant wars that occurred during his tenure was the War of the Castilian Succession, which lasted from 1420 to 1431. This conflict arose from the disputed succession to the Crown of Castile and saw Alfonso V supporting his niece, Joanna, against her rival, Henry IV.
