Ewuakpe was a powerful king who ruled over the Kingdom of Benin from 1703 to 1711. During his reign, the kingdom faced significant challenges, including the Oyo invasion in 1704 and the Akure war in 1708. The Oyo invasion, led by Alaafin Asona, resulted in a fierce battle between the two kingdoms, with the Kingdom of Benin successfully defending its territory. The Akure war, on the other hand, was a conflict between the Kingdom of Benin and the neighboring Akure kingdom, which lasted for several years. Despite these external threats, Ewuakpe managed to maintain the stability and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Benin during his rule.
