Henry VI was the King of England from 1422 to 1461 and again from 1470 to 1471. His reign was marked by the Wars of the Roses, a series of civil wars between the House of Lancaster and the House of York for control of the English throne. The most important wars during his tenure were the First Battle of St Albans in 1455, the Battle of Towton in 1461, and the Battle of Tewkesbury in 1471.
