Stephen III, also known as Stephen the Younger, was the King of Hungary from 1162 to 1172. During his reign, he faced several significant conflicts. One of the most notable wars was the Byzantine-Hungarian War, which occurred from 1164 to 1168. This conflict arose due to territorial disputes between Hungary and the Byzantine Empire. Another important conflict was the Hungarian-Cuman War, which took place from 1166 to 1167. This war was fought against the Cumans, a nomadic people who posed a threat to Hungary's borders. Despite the challenges, Stephen III successfully defended Hungary's territories and maintained stability during his tenure as king.
