Bermudo II was the King of the Kingdom of Leon from 984 to 999. During his reign, he faced several significant wars and revolts. One of the most important conflicts was the Battle of Rueda in 986, where Bermudo II successfully defended his kingdom against an invasion led by Al-Mansur, the ruler of the Umayyad Caliphate. Another notable war occurred in 997, known as the War of the Three Sanchos, which was a power struggle between Bermudo II and his cousins Sancho II of Castile and Sancho IV of Navarre. These wars and revolts shaped Bermudo II's reign and his efforts to maintain the stability and independence of the Kingdom of Leon.
