Sancho VII the Strong was the King of the Kingdom of Navarre from 1194 to 1234. During his reign, he faced several significant conflicts, including the War of the Castilian Succession (1199-1204) and the War of Las Navas de Tolosa (1212). In the War of the Castilian Succession, Sancho VII supported his niece Berengaria's claim to the Castilian throne against Alfonso VIII, resulting in a prolonged struggle for power. The War of Las Navas de Tolosa saw Sancho VII joining forces with other Christian kingdoms to defeat the Almohad Caliphate, marking a turning point in the Reconquista.
