Grimuald, King (Kingdom of the Lombards) : All Data
Grimuald was a King who ruled over the Kingdom of the Lombards from 663 to 671. During his tenure, the Lombards faced significant conflicts, including the Byzantine-Lombard Wars. These wars, which took place from 663 to 681, saw the Lombards clashing with the Byzantine Empire over control of Italy. Another notable conflict during Grimuald's reign was the revolt of the dukes of Spoleto and Benevento in 671. This revolt, led by Duke Grimoald II of Benevento, aimed to challenge Lombard authority and establish independent rule. Despite these challenges, Grimuald managed to maintain his rule over the Lombard Kingdom during his time as king.
