Another notable conflict that occurred during Rothari's rule was the Lombard-Avar War, which took place from 626 to 626. This war saw the Lombards, led by Rothari, fighting against the Avars, a nomadic people from Central Asia. Despite these military challenges, Rothari managed to consolidate Lombard power and is best known for his codification of Lombard laws in the Edictum Rothari, which became a significant legal document in medieval Europe.
