Rechila was the King of the Suebi in Galicia from 440 to 447. During his reign, he faced significant military challenges, including the Roman-Suebi War (446-447). This conflict erupted when the Suebi, led by Rechila, clashed with the Roman Empire over territorial disputes. Rechila's reign also witnessed the Suebi's involvement in the Bagaudae Revolt (440-442), a rebellion against Roman rule in Gaul. Despite these conflicts, Rechila managed to consolidate his power and expand the Suebi kingdom, establishing a strong presence in the Iberian Peninsula.
