One of the most important wars was the Babylonian revolt against the Assyrian Empire, which began in -625 and lasted for several years. This rebellion ultimately led to the fall of the Assyrian Empire and the rise of the Neo-Babylonian Empire under Nabopolassar's rule. Another notable conflict was the Battle of Carchemish in -605, where Nabopolassar's forces, alongside the Medes, decisively defeated the Egyptian army, solidifying Babylonian control over the region and establishing their dominance in the Near East.
