Leo I was a Lord who ruled over the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia from 1132 to 1138. During his reign, he faced significant military challenges, including the wars against the Byzantine Empire. One of the most important conflicts was the Byzantine-Armenian War of 1136-1137, which saw Leo I leading his forces against the Byzantines in an attempt to defend his kingdom's independence. Another notable war was the Battle of Bagras in 1137, where Leo I successfully repelled a Seljuk Turk invasion. Despite the relatively short period of his rule, Leo I's military prowess and strategic leadership were crucial in defending the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia during these turbulent times.
