Ngawang Tashi Drakpa was a regent of the Phagmodrupa Dynasty, reigning from 1501 to 1564. He ruled over the region of Tibet during this period, displaying strong leadership and political acumen. One of the most significant wars that occurred during his tenure was the Battle of Dartsedo in 1517, where the Tibetan forces, led by Ngawang Tashi Drakpa, successfully defended against an invasion by the Ming Dynasty. Another notable conflict was the Tibetan-Mongol War of 1550-1551, where Ngawang Tashi Drakpa skillfully negotiated a peace treaty with the Mongols, ensuring stability and peace in the region.
