Ashur-rabi II was a king who ruled over the Assyrian Empire during the period of -1012 to -972. His reign witnessed significant conflicts, including the wars against the Arameans and the Babylonians. In -1000, Ashur-rabi II led the Assyrian forces in a successful campaign against the Arameans, securing the empire's western borders. Later, in -977, he faced a major revolt led by Shamash-resh-uzur, the king of Babylon, which resulted in a prolonged conflict known as the Babylonian Revolt. Ashur-rabi II managed to suppress the revolt and maintain Assyrian control over Babylon, solidifying his authority over the empire.
