Giovanni Bembo was the Doge of the Republic of Venice from 1615 to 1618. During his reign, Venice faced several conflicts, including the Uskok War (1615-1617) and the War of Gradisca (1617-1618). The Uskok War was a series of clashes with the Uskoks, a group of Croatian pirates, while the War of Gradisca was fought against the Habsburgs over the control of the town of Gradisca d'Isonzo. Despite these challenges, Bembo's rule saw Venice successfully defend its territories and maintain its position as a prominent maritime power in the Mediterranean.
