Hyeokgeose Geoseogan was the first king of Silla, reigning from -57 to -4. During his rule, Silla faced several significant wars and conflicts. One of the most important wars was the Battle of Gwansan Fortress in -48, where Silla successfully defended against an invasion by the neighboring state of Gaya. Another notable conflict was the Battle of Hwangsanbeol in -4, where Silla defeated the alliance of Baekje and Goguryeo, solidifying its control over the Korean Peninsula. Hyeokgeose Geoseogan's reign marked the beginning of Silla's rise to power and laid the foundation for its eventual unification of the Three Kingdoms of Korea.
