Munmu was the ruler of Silla during the period of 661-681. He is known for his reign from 661-681, during which he successfully defended Silla against various external threats. One of the most important wars that occurred during his tenure was the Goguryeo-Silla War, which took place from 661-668. Munmu led Silla forces in this conflict and eventually defeated Goguryeo, leading to the unification of the Korean Peninsula under Silla's rule. Another significant event during his reign was the Tang-Silla War, which lasted from 670-676. Despite initial setbacks, Munmu's leadership ultimately resulted in a Silla victory, solidifying their control over the region.
