Yang, the Emperor of the Sui Dynasty, ruled from 604 to 618. During his reign, he implemented numerous reforms to strengthen the central government and improve the economy. One of the most significant wars that occurred during his tenure was the Goguryeo-Sui War, which lasted from 598 to 614. This conflict saw the Sui Dynasty launching multiple unsuccessful invasions against the Goguryeo Kingdom in present-day Korea. Another notable war was the Sui-Tang War, which took place from 610 to 614. This conflict arose when the Sui Dynasty's control over the northern regions weakened, leading to clashes with the emerging Tang Dynasty. Despite these military setbacks, Yang's reign laid the foundation for the subsequent Tang Dynasty's prosperity.
