Thuwaini bin Said was the Sultan of the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman from 1856 to 1866. During his reign, the most significant war was the Dhofar Rebellion, which lasted from 1857 to 1859. This conflict saw the Omani forces led by Thuwaini bin Said successfully suppress the rebellion in the Dhofar region. Another notable event during his rule was the Anglo-Omani War of 1861-1862, where the Sultanate faced British intervention due to disputes over the administration of Zanzibar. However, this war occurred after Thuwaini bin Said's reign, as he passed away in 1866.
