Narai the Great was a revered king who ruled over the Ayutthaya Kingdom from 1656 to 1688. During his reign, he successfully navigated diplomatic relations with European powers, particularly the French, and implemented reforms that modernized the kingdom. The most significant war that occurred during his tenure was the Siamese–Dutch War, which took place from 1661 to 1664. This conflict arose due to Dutch attempts to monopolize trade in the region, and Narai's forces ultimately emerged victorious, securing Siam's independence and preserving its economic interests.
