Iskandar Muda was a Sultan who ruled the Aceh Sultanate from 1607 to 1636. During his reign, he led the Acehnese Empire to its peak of power and prosperity. Iskandar Muda successfully defended his kingdom against Portuguese and Dutch invasions, notably defeating the Portuguese in the Battle of Aceh in 1615 and the Dutch in the Siege of Malacca in 1629.
