Lázaro Cárdenas was the President of the United Mexican States from 1934 to 1940. During his tenure, he implemented significant social and economic reforms, including land redistribution and nationalization of key industries. One of the most important wars that occurred during his rule was the Spanish Civil War, which took place from 1936 to 1939. Although Mexico did not directly participate in the conflict, Cárdenas supported the Republican government and provided asylum to Spanish refugees. Another significant event was the Chaco War, fought between Bolivia and Paraguay from 1932 to 1935, which Cárdenas diplomatically mediated to prevent further escalation and promote peace in the region.
