Charles the Bald was the King of West Francia from 843 to 877. During his reign, he faced several significant wars and revolts. One of the most notable conflicts was the Viking invasions: these raids posed a constant threat to Charles' kingdom and required him to defend his lands against the Norsemen. Additionally, Charles also had to contend with the rebellions of his own nobles, such as the Revolt of the Three Henries in 858. Despite these challenges, Charles the Bald managed to maintain his rule and preserve the integrity of West Francia.
