Libius Severus was an Emperor of the Western Roman Empire who reigned from 461 to 465. During his rule, he faced several significant conflicts, including the ongoing Vandalic War. This war, which began in 429, continued throughout his reign and saw the Vandals, led by King Geiseric, raiding and pillaging Roman territories in North Africa. Additionally, Severus had to contend with the Visigothic invasion of Gaul in 462, led by King Theodoric II.
