Kulin was a ruler of the Banate of Bosnia from 1181 to 1201. During his reign, Bosnia experienced several significant conflicts. One of the most important wars was the Bosnian Crusade, which took place from 1184 to 1185. This conflict saw the invasion of Bosnia by the forces of the Holy Roman Empire and Hungary, aiming to suppress the Bosnian Church. Another notable war was the Second Bulgarian Uprising, which occurred from 1196 to 1197. This revolt against Byzantine rule had a significant impact on the region and likely influenced Kulin's rule. Despite the challenges, Kulin managed to maintain his authority and navigate through these turbulent times in the Banate of Bosnia.
