Jovian was an Emperor of the Roman Empire who ruled for a brief period in the year 364. He succeeded Emperor Julian and his reign lasted only seven months until his untimely death. During his short tenure, there were no major wars or conflicts recorded. However, it is worth noting that Jovian's reign followed the death of Julian, who had been engaged in the Roman-Persian War (363-364) against the Sassanian Empire. This war ended with the death of Julian and the subsequent peace treaty negotiated by Jovian, which resulted in the Roman Empire ceding territories to Persia.
