Artaxerxes II, the King of Kings, ruled over the Achaemenid Empire from -404 to -358. During his reign, he faced significant military challenges, including the Corinthian War (395-387) and the Second Egyptian Revolt (373-361). The Corinthian War, fought against a coalition of Greek city-states, resulted in a stalemate and a peace treaty that maintained the status quo. The Second Egyptian Revolt, led by the pharaoh Nectanebo II, initially threatened Persian control but was eventually suppressed, reaffirming Artaxerxes II's authority over Egypt. Despite these conflicts, Artaxerxes II managed to maintain stability within his vast empire, leaving a lasting legacy as a capable ruler.
