Septimius Severus was a Roman Emperor who ruled from 193 to 211 AD. He governed over the Roman Empire during a period of significant military conflicts. One of the most important wars that occurred during his reign was the Parthian War, which took place from 197 to 198 AD. Another significant conflict was the invasion of Caledonia (modern-day Scotland) in 208 AD, known as the Roman conquest of Scotland. These wars and military campaigns demonstrate Severus' focus on expanding and securing the borders of the Roman Empire during his time as ruler.
