Nabonidus was the last king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire, reigning from -555 to -539. During his rule, he faced several significant conflicts, including the war with the Achaemenid Empire led by Cyrus the Great. This war, known as the Battle of Opis, took place in -539, coinciding with the end of Nabonidus' reign. Another notable conflict was the revolt of the city of Ur in -550, which occurred within the calculated timespan of Nabonidus' rule. Despite his efforts to defend his empire, Nabonidus was ultimately defeated by Cyrus the Great, marking the end of the Neo-Babylonian Empire.
