Huizong, Emperor (Chiefdom of Sizhou (Song)) : All Data
Huizong was the Emperor of the Song Dynasty, ruling from 1100 to 1126. During his reign, he faced significant military challenges, including the Jurchen invasion. In 1125, the Jurchen Jin Dynasty launched an attack on the Song Dynasty, resulting in the Jin-Song Wars. These wars lasted from 1125 to 1127, with the Jurchens capturing the Song capital, Kaifeng, in 1127. Huizong's rule was marked by his passion for art and culture, leading to neglect of military affairs, which ultimately weakened the Song Dynasty's defense against external threats.
