Darius I, also known as Darius the Great, was the King of Kings who ruled over the Achaemenid Empire from 522 to 486 BC. During his reign, he faced several significant wars and revolts. One of the most notable conflicts was the Ionian Revolt, which occurred from 499 to 493 BC, where the Greek city-states in Asia Minor rebelled against Persian rule. Another important war was the First Persian invasion of Greece, known as the Greco-Persian Wars, which took place from 492 to 490 BC.
