James II, King (Duchy of Athens (Aragon)) : All Data
James II was the King of the Kingdom of Aragon from 1291 to 1327. During his reign, he faced several significant conflicts, including the War of the Sicilian Vespers (1282-1302) and the War of the Union (1319-1322). The War of the Sicilian Vespers, which began before James II's reign, saw Aragon fighting against the Angevin dynasty for control over Sicily. The War of the Union, on the other hand, was a conflict between James II and his son, Alfonso IV, over the latter's desire to inherit the Kingdom of Valencia. Despite these challenges, James II managed to maintain his rule over Aragon for a remarkable 36 years.
