Nikephoros I was the Emperor of the Byzantine Empire from 802 to 811. During his reign, he faced several significant wars and revolts. One of the most important conflicts was the Bulgarian-Byzantine War, which lasted from 807 to 809. This war saw Nikephoros I leading the Byzantine forces against the Bulgarian Empire, resulting in a Byzantine victory and the annexation of Bulgarian territories. Additionally, in 811, Nikephoros I faced the Abbasid Caliphate in the Battle of Pliska, where he suffered a devastating defeat and lost his life.
