Joachim I Nestor was the Elector of Brandenburg from 1499 until his death in 1535. During his reign, he faced several significant conflicts, including the First Margrave War (1519-1523) and the Peasants' War (1524-1526). The First Margrave War, also known as the Hohenzollern War, was a territorial dispute between the Margraviate of Brandenburg-Ansbach and the Margraviate of Brandenburg-Kulmbach. The Peasants' War, on the other hand, was a widespread revolt by German peasants against their feudal lords. Both of these conflicts occurred within the known timespan of Joachim I Nestor's rule, making him a ruler who had to navigate through challenging times of internal strife and territorial disputes.
